Josie began competing in the Miss America Organization in 2015, when she earned the title of Miss Garden Grove’s Outstanding Teen. Along with the $500 scholarship, she represented the city of Garden Grove at the Miss California’s Outstanding Teen competition. “I really enjoyed competing at Miss California’s Outstanding Teen; it showed me just how great the scholarship and service opportunities are in the Miss America Organization.”
As a student at Dartmouth College, Josie has made New Hampshire her home. Once she became settled in the area, she knew it was time to get involved in the Miss New Hampshire Organization. In fall of 2017, she competed in the Miss Berlin-Gorham competition, where she earned a $5,000 college scholarship. She advanced to the 2018 Miss New Hampshire contest where she was named a preliminary swimsuit winner (another $300 scholarship), and was named Third Runner-Up to Marissa Moorhouse, bringing her 2018 scholarship winnings to $8,300.
Josie wasted no time preparing for the 2019 Miss New Hampshire competition, entering (and winning) Miss Littleton Area on June 23. Along with the crown and title, she won a $1,000 scholarship and will go on to compete at the state level this April in Derry. “I’m excited to return to the stage and see if I’m able to improve on last year’s performance. Practicing my talent and serving my community are fun distractions from my studies, and I really enjoy sharing the fruits of those labors with our Miss NH family.”
